Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Pipe Laborer to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction or utility work and be comfortable working in outdoor environments and physically demanding conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the layout, assembly, and installation of pipe systems (PVC, ductile iron, concrete, etc.)
- Prepare trenches, ensure proper slope and bedding, and support pipe installation
- Operate hand and power tools such as shovels, compactors, and pipe cutters
- Load, unload, and transport materials and tools to and from the job site
- Follow site safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support equipment operators and pipe layers during excavation and backfill operations
- Perform general labor duties as assigned by the site foreman or supervisor
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior experience in underground utilities or construction is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments
- Familiarity with hand tools and construction equipment
- Reliable transportation and good work ethic
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices
- Basic understanding of construction drawings or blueprints
- Experience working with storm, sewer, or water piping systems
Work Environment:
- Outdoor job sites, exposed to varying weather conditions
- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
